Gregory’s Story — How a Trail Runner from the French Alps Built a Dream in Nepal
My name is Gregory, and I’ve always loved sports. But trail running — that became something deeper. It wasn’t just about endurance or competition. It became a way of life — a mindset, a connection to something greater.
After COVID, I moved to the United States for work. Life was stable, but something inside me kept whispering:
“It’s time to live your dreams. It’s time to return to what you truly love.”
I didn’t know exactly where that path would lead. But one thing was clear — Nepal had already changed me once.
When I first visited in 2019, I fell in love with its mountains, its simplicity, and the quiet wisdom of its people. Nepal wasn’t just a place I had visited, it had become a part of me. I promised myself I would return, not just as a traveler, but to create something meaningful, authentic, and lasting.
The Spark of an Idea
In 2022, I came back to Nepal — to climb, to run, and to search for a purpose.
While running the Pokhara Trail Series, I met two incredible athletes — Arjun and Man Kumar. They encouraged me to join the Manjushree Trail Race in Kathmandu, one of Nepal’s most iconic trail running events.
That’s where I met Jimmy — an Englishman, UNICEF worker, and one of the pioneers of trail running in Nepal. When I shared my dream of creating trail running camps that would connect performance with spirituality, his support gave me the confidence to take the next step.
When Dreams Find the Right People
Back in Pokhara, I reconnected with the Pokhara Trail Series team. They believed in my idea but said something that stuck with me:
“Your vision is strong — now you just need the right people to make it real.”
That’s when I met Mohan, the founder of North Nepal Travel & Trek, a man whose story inspired me deeply. From humble beginnings, he built one of Nepal’s most trusted trekking agencies. From our very first meeting, it was clear — we shared the same vision.
Mohan wanted to bring fast-packing to Nepal, and I wanted to develop trail running. Together, we saw how both ideas could grow hand in hand.
Soon after, we began exploring Nepal’s trails with Jiban, a professional runner and mountain guide. From the lush hills of Pokhara to the high ridges of the Himalayas, we mapped out routes that were both technical and transformative — trails where people could run, breathe, and rediscover themselves.

Our shared passion, combined with local expertise and international experience, gave life to something truly unique:
Trail & Trek Nepal — where adventure meets meaning.
Our mission is simple yet powerful:
To help people reconnect with nature, with themselves, and with the true spirit of trail running.
Beyond Running — A Purpose That Moves Us
Trail & Trek Nepal is more than a sports project. It’s a movement.
We believe Nepal can become a global home for trail running — a place where athletes and adventurers from around the world come not only to train but to grow.
We aim to build bridges — between local runners and international athletes, between the spirit of endurance and the peace of nature.
And because true growth means giving back, part of our profits supports social and educational projects in Western Nepal, helping communities that need it most.
